We secure alignment with the client: we spend the time in honest and open discussion with prospective clients to understand the scope of the engagement and to ensure that expectations are definable and achievable. Then, we create a strategy to accomplish the client’s goals.
Our time is valuable and it should be valuable to our clients. Every engagement requires the payment of a retainer or hourly fee. In cases where we are working on a transaction that may include the sale of the company or the acquisition of another, such fees are typically netted against the success fee, which is usually based on the absolute size and value of the transaction in monetary terms.
